Learning is powerful, and I love being able to give my students power so that they can change the world.”

Mathematics

Why Mathematics

“There are so many different angles (no pun intended!) to approach math concepts from and it’s all about finding the best fit for each student. The thought of being able to help my students realize a change in how they think about themselves and their mathematical abilities excites me.”

Professional Experience

During the winter break of her junior year of college, Ana had the opportunity to work as a long-term substitute teacher at Arundel High School. In this role, she planned all lessons and facilitated learning for her freshman Algebra 1, AP Statistics, and geometry courses. Additionally, Ana worked as a substitute teacher and special education teaching assistant for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. These experiences helped to shape her as a teacher.

Ana will begin her first year of teaching at Arundel High School during the 2021–2022 school year.

Volunteer Experience

Being involved in community service, one of Ana’s central passions, greatly impacted her college experience. While at the University of Delaware, she was a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority. Ana also served as the Day of Service Planning Chair for the Honors Engaging in Neighborhood Service Club. She is always looking for new ways to get involved.

Hobbies

Ana enjoys cooking, binge watching Gilmore Girls, and exploring the world around her and constantly learning new things about it.
