Kwesi Vincent

“I decided to pursue teaching as a profession once I made the determination that I wanted to dedicate the rest of my professional life to having a positive impact on our society. Specifically, I want to address the inequities in our society that have resulted in the opportunity gap that exists for people of color. I have become a teacher so that I can develop African American youth and increase the educational and vocational opportunities for all students from underserved communities.”

Kwesi’s Story

Teaching Discipline

Mathematics

Why Mathematics

“I believe mathematics is a gateway to empowerment. A strong math education not only gives students the foundational skills needed to pursue opportunities in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, but when taught well, math also develops the problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills that are required for college and career success across all areas of study and professions.”
