Sarah’s Story
Sarah DiMaria is a dedicated secondary math and science teacher, instructional coach, and founding staff member at Cedars International Next Generation High School, a PBL STEM school in Austin, TX. She focuses on creating rigorous, equitable STEM experiences that foster a strong sense of belonging for all students.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and teaching certifications in secondary mathematics and science from Michigan State University, where she also completed a Master of Arts in Teaching and Curriculum with a focus on Administration. In 2019, she served on the NAEP Mathematics Exam Rewriting Panel in Washington, D.C.
Beyond teaching, Sarah coordinates professional development and instructional coaching and has trained educators globally in project-based learning through Advanced Reasoning in Education’s Think Global Academies. She remains active in the Knowles Teaching Initiative through PDFC, an Academy Facilitator and other various capacities.
Sarah is a 2021 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching awardee and was named Outstanding Texas Educator by the Texas Academy of Sciences in 2022. She co-founded ProgressED Pathways LLC, focusing on empowering educators through coaching and professional development.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys growing her plant collection, hiking with her dog, and taking on new exercise challenges with friends.
